Just got back from three weeks in Scandinavia. Stockholm was lovely (I agree with Laura–definitely check out the public library) but I liked Oslo even more. All the advice said, “Oslo’s expensive, but you can do it in two days.” So we tried, and found that we couldn’t. Therefore Oslo remains on the bucket list, next time for a longer stay. And once you are in Norway, you must go out on a fjord. Some people claim Norway is the most beautiful country on earth; it is hard to argue otherwise.

It sucked to be that honest and raw but there is no way I can honestly say I’ve exhausted every option to make my dreams a reality. Thanks for the kick in the ass.

I finally got tired of it and decided to change. Like you mentioned, I created a plan and started saving. At first, it was only a little but as I saw it grow it only motivated me to save more.

Additionally, I looked for cheaper options for getting away. I always enjoyed camping and so I started doing more of that. I was able to go camping for a lot less than other types of travel. I now camp regularly. It helps me get out, see the country and fulfill the need to adventure.

Hi Lavoie,
I was recently in Scandinavia and due to a missed flight, I didn’t have near enough time in Stockholm so I will need to go back. But I did go to the city library and it is so cool. It’s round with stacks going along the walls several stories high. You have to like books and libraries to enjoy that but it’s an enduring memory for me. Norway is definitely worth exploring if you are planning to explore. Have fun!

I booked a flight to Scandinavia & I’m going by myself! I am so excited about planning where I will stay in Stockholm & where else in Scandinavia is not to be missed! I am open to suggestions for those of you who know and been there recently.

I regularly end up rationalizing and I should quit doing as such! Extraordinary read which I will spare to rehash it!

Everyone is scared of something. I was scared to travel solo that it took me a while to finally take the first step. It was liberating and fun.

Now, when i can, I go to short trips. I hope I keep it up. I love exploring new places and meeting new exciting people.

Reminds me of the 5-second rule whenever I feel like procrastinating, and it works! Just need to have the courage to take the first step, and to keep progressing. Applies to travel and anything in life, really.

Turn around your excuse. Go from impossible, to probable, to certain. All depends on how you word things, then, how you raise your vibe from fear to fun as you choose those words.
