Thank you for reminding me how expensive taking taxis can be when on a vacation. My friends and I are planning to go to Lexington, Virginia soon to relax and catch up. I’ll suggest we find a local bed and breakfast near major attractions to avoid unnecessary trips.

I am from Tibet and the most important things need to pack before travel to Tibet is sunscreen. Tibet is situated on a high plateau and the average elevation of the region is 3600m. The sun here in Tibet is very very strong?

Some good tips here guys! I myself am awful when it comes to prepping for anything, preferring to pretty much just wing everything, but I guess that’s just my style of travel.. When I am heading somewhere a little more out there, Venezuela, Palestine, Myanmar; hell yes, it makes sense to be prepared ?

Loved the tips! Whenever I enter a tourism office I have such a good feeling, like “feeling welcomed”, “I am *really* at this city/country”, “There are so many new things to see from now on”. As I like travelling solo, maybe a tip for me would be “travel in group at least once”!

Great guidelines! I Have been traveling for years now and in truth, I will have to have been following a few of these pointers, however I fail to remember more often than not. Like taking an empty water bottle with me, I’m all the time thirsty! Having copies of my passport as neatly, i Will’t count in my palms how time and again i Wished a replica and needed to run to discover a place to take it. Btw, I still use the money belts, however most effective in the airplane as I Feel i Will sleep better.

Love these tips! Though I prefer an aisle seat instead of a window on long haul flights – the only exception is if it’s a red-eye flight. Also – carry a travel towel, preferably a thin, light chamois. Fluffy soft white bath towels are an indulgence when you’re on the road, not a necessity!
